Ruthless People by J.J. McAvoy

This book had me manifesting for a time machine in the middle of the night, to go back and steal JJ McAvoy's pen before writing this horrid shithole she calls a "mafia book".

This is one of those "all talk but shit-show" books. The characters were borderline cringey. The writing and dialogues were borderline cringey.
Our main characters refer to themselves as "ruthless" and pretend to be all bold and vicious when they are just straightaway one dimensional cardboard cut outs of psychopaths. They think TOO highly of themselves but are nothing but dumb whores who can't control shit, let alone an entire fucking mafia.

This book made the mafia a complete and utter joke. No kidding. The way Mel and Liam handled the mafia, no doubt the world will crumble within hours.
There's no way in hell you kill people like you are dropping a sweat, and not bear the consequences. Not even real mafia.

Your family is annoying you? Stab them.
Your fiance glared at you? Shoot him.
You need an information out of a pregnant women? Butcher her.
A fucking 6 year old isn't answering you? Assaninate her.

They are so lame, so dimensionless, it makes me gag.

I have read MUCH darker shit. But atleast the characters have a past, a villian arc, a motive, a tad bit reality to connect us to their actions. This book ain't dark, it's just lame and a big fucking joke.

And the romance was so over the par cringe. Enemies to lovers insta-lust my ass.

The way they started devouring each other in the first meeting like a lifelong starved hellhounds? Fucking embarrassing.

I resisted TRILLIONS attempt to not roll my eyes every time the main characters acted like every fucker in this world is their bitch. But fuck me, my eyeballs are stuck deep in my brains.
