So far, I think Crush is my favorite of the Berrybrook series. Jorge is dealing with the drama of middle school. He also gets his first crush, which isn't anything new to his friends, but to him? Nahhh, he wouldn't have time for that dating nonsense! Still, he realizes that he has a crush on Jazmine. He also has to deal with drama from jerks and friends along with these strange feelings.
My own kid is in middle school, so I could totally see some of the stuff happening to her and her friends. It was fun and I could relate to the cringey moments in the book. These kids are awesome. I really like how they stick up for one another, but aren't afraid to tell each other when they're being stupid. I really hope there are more books in the series. These characters are fun and REAL. The author really gets what it's like to be a kid in middle school.
