I Am a Cat, the Manga Edition: A Cat Without a Name, But with Great Intelligence, Wit and Bite by Natsume Sōseki, Chiroru Kobato

2.5

I hadn’t read the novel this manga is based off of, maybe if I had, I could have connected more to this story. It brought me back to reading classic American literature/plays in school and not understand the wit or the importance of events because I can’t relate to the times.

Loved the art though. The cats were depicted so beautifully.

I’m upset by the ending. I believe my exact words were “the f***?!?” as I stared blankly at the page and then reread the last few pages to be sure I read it all correctly.
