I read The Phoenix Keeper by S.A. MacLean and LOVED it which in turn lead me to read Voidwalker. The Phoenix Keeper was very much a cozy fantasy and is nothing like and should not be compared to Voidwalker in any way. I loved them both, but Voidwalker is a monster romance with cool sci-fi/fantasy elements. The concept of this book was unlike any I’ve ever read before. I was fascinated by the magic system and the hierarchy of creatures. And most importantly, even though it is a monster romance, there was a stunning plot and complex characters and lots of humor. It was written really well! I’ll be really intrigued to see what else this author comes up with!
