Brie has never been the biggest fan of the fae. When a chance to cross into the fae territory presents itself she has no interest in going, that is until her younger sister asks her to. But before they can even make the journey, Brie's younger sister is sold to the King of the Unseelie. Brie will stop at nothing to get her sister back safely, even if it means working with the enemy.

This book came along at the perfect time! I was sucked in right from the beginning. I loved the development of the world and the characters. Brie as the FMC was incredible. She is strong and independent and a little lonely. I felt a connection with her character from the beginning. I loved the bond that she has with her sister, Jas.

The description that I saw of this book was a mix between ACOTAR and Cruel Prince. Having recently read both of these books I can say this description did not disappoint, and it had a lot to live up to. I definitely had a lot of out loud reactions to things that were happening, which did not always come at the best of times. While I love Brie I did not agree with the choices that she made throughout.

Finn and Ronan were incredible male leads. I loved the differences between them and how they each brought something different out in Brie. I will be honest I am definitely more team Finn. Ronan was an extremely interesting character. I just constantly felt that I was never getting the full story or picture of who he was.

Without giving any spoilers I will say I am thrilled that there is not a very long wait for me to get my hands on the second book in this duology. I cannot wait to see what happens next. The ending of the first book was incredibly done and I need to know what comes next. I will say that the last line of the book was strong and killer.

The chapters varied in length and the pace of the book was medium to fast. The narrator did an incredible job of voicing and bringing all of these characters to life. She did a good job of voicing not only the female characters but also the male characters. Her voice/reading of the book made me want to spend more time listening.
