Emily Henry and I have a love-hate relationship, in that her books are truly hit-and-miss for me; although, I do think that is par for the course with romance novels anyway and not at all to do with Henry’s talent or capability.  And bitch!  I truly did not expect to be on board with this one, especially because the concept is a little broken in my opinion (like not telling ANYONE that you broke up for almost 6 months???).  HOWEVER.  I totally fell in love with not only Wyn and Harriet, but the whole cast and crew.  I love how they worked out the third act conflict.  I love how complex the friendships and characters were.  The setting was so cozy and beautiful, and I feel like no one can describe vacation and travel as well as Emily Henry does.  I just… holy shit.  It’s 4 stars because honestly, I was rolling my eyes for the first third about all of the self-induced drama and problems going on, and I am not one for the mis-communication/reading-way-too-far-into-what-people-are-saying bullshittery that often occurs in rom-coms, but the fact that she turned the puddle of problems and issues and messiness into a beautiful love story that I almost shed a tear to????  Props where props are due my friend.  I can officially say that I really enjoyed 50% of Emily Henry’s romance releases, and that’s a pretty good ratio for a cold hearted bitch like me!

Also loving how the spiciness is increasing with every subsequent release.  Totally here for it 🙃
