What a delicious surprise this novelette was! I believe this is the first published book from this author, but based on this one, I envisage a long list of publications to come!
This is such a succulent read full of dark humour and I dare say dubious moral choices (lol), depending how you look at it! In my opinion, you could read it in two ways, but that’s my speculative/philosophical/interpretative part of my brain talking (I’m open to a discussion).
There is so much in such a short story, I was impressed! Also, I listened to the audiobook version and the narration by Ryan Dimon really managed to bring this novelette to life.
The end line is that this is a fantastic read if you’ve got the stomach for it, and I must say it left me very hungry! But I know there’s going to be a sequel, so if you read it (and you should) I’d make sure to leave space for dessert! Just be careful whom you trust with the cooking, lol!
