The Tempest by William Shakespeare

4.0

This was an excellent production of "The Tempest." How could Audible go wrong with Sir Ian McKellen, Benedict Cumberbatch, Emilia Fox, et al?

It had been so long since I last read it, in fact if I ever had, that I had a bit of trouble piecing out which character was speaking. That was no fault of the actors, but my own ignorance, so I turned around and followed the Audible production by reading the play.

I admired Prospero for his cunning in getting back what was rightfully his as the Duke of Milan and for his restraint regarding just how far he was willing to go for retribution. Shakespeare's writing, of course, is Shakespeare. Poetry, wisdom, wit, human frailties all are present.
