These books are just fun. I watched the whole Netflix series (more than once) but never read the books, so I’m working my way through them. I like seeing the differences (it does seem like the series planted more seeds for a bigger overarching story from the get go and the books didn’t, though I’m not sure how much that overarching story even matches what happens in the books at this point.) I really do love the way these are written. The quirkiness, the random humor inserted even when the poor Baudelaires are going through some awful things. It also captures that sinking feeling of when adults really let you down.
