I give this comic book a 3/5 rating.
Objectively speaking, it is not a bad Sherlock Holmes story! Sherlock and Watson themselves are very likable, as are Lestrade and Mrs. Hudson. The plot is a fairly traditional 'Sherlock Holmes seems to have committed a murder and has to work with a distraught Watson to prove his innocence', which is typically not my thing. It also caters to an audience that just isn't me, and that's okay!
The story and dialogue felt a bit dated, leaning into the bigotry of the era (sexism, anti-Irish, etc), which felt unnecessary to the plot.
Overall, it's a fine comic. I'm glad I gave it a try, but I didn't feel the need to finish it since I could guess the ending and didn't feel that invested in the story.
