This was an absolutely FANTASTIC read!
A magic school, here in the US deep south, for black students only, to teach them their ancestral magics and history that is NOT taught in regular schools at ALL.
This played out beautifully in my head, like a movie, and did introduce me to some VERY REAL US history that happen to black people. Again, stuff that is NOT taught in schools. But a quick Google search or trip to the library reveals SO much history.
I love Malik’s character, and something told me that Alexis was going to do what she did toward the end. And yes, I do fully believe that Taron is his dad.
Also, Malik’s little brother, Taye? Mama Bear mode activated. This child must be protected and loved at all cost!
