I only have one negative and that has been a constant through this trilogy. I wish that the author had included their substitutions for “they, their, and them” in an index or along with the explanations of clans and the characters that fall within them. Xe, Xir and Xi are used as replacements but in doing so, the proper tense of the word is confused. Example: “Xe was a devote follower of the Sun Priest” where if directly translated “was” would be were”.
Anyway…I am happy Serapio and Xiala ended up together in the end and if it were to be a fourth book, I would hope that Nara woke up. The bad guys got what they deserved and the story ended on a positive note. I really like how Xiala’s story came full circle and she ended up being Queen, not only that, but her and Serapio now have a son.
