The Argonauts by Maggie Nelson
5.0
This is the first "auto-theory" book I can recall ever reading and I really like this style. Maggie Nelson takes her personal life and instead of just writing it like an open journal like most autobiographies, she ties in philosophy, reasoning, and support from many authors. The way she has let the reader into her life, Harry's life, and her thought process creates a space for questioning identity, whether it's limiting or necessary; the experience of childbirth juxtaposed with the death of one's mother; and what it's like to be in a relationship with someone who is gender-fluid. Definitely recommend and I want to read it again.
