This story captured me from the first page. You feel all the emotions of loss and loneliness that Liesel lived with, and the hurt and despair that Kurt faces as he falls in love with her, knowing all the while that she's been robbed of her choice to love him, too. Their journey and their fight to bring freedom not for just themselves but for their families as well was gripping. I couldn't put this book down!
