Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

3.0

I feel all the other characters are shadows or vague outlines of who is truly there. I never know these boys true intentions or what they are like when other people are around and I guess that is a mystery of its own.

Who is Tate? Who is Chase? Her parents? Her siblings? It’s very lonely to be alone, and to have connections with people who live entirely different lives is very confronting.

I would have like to read the night of the death instead as well as them talking about what might have happened and then what happened.

They also described EVERYTHING I get it to create the scene but in the midst of all the drama please just cut to the point because I don’t care what kind of wood that it holding up the buildings. It dragged everything out and kinda bored me

I saw people said it felt like assigned reading in school and I honestly couldn’t agree more. I felt forced to read it at the start and then I was getting into it a little when it picked up and then I just wanted it over with when it dragged on a bit. Anyway that’s all I remember tbh

Honourable mention to Jumpin and Maple, I loved them and how they took care of Kya.
