"You can't save me, because I'm not in peril."

This is a collection of stories of black women exploring their inner desires and lets their human nature take over. These are stories wherein they forget that they should be God's little angels and be honest with how they really feel.

Or more accurately, have you heard of the saying that "catholic schools raise the baddest bitches"? This book is something like it.

THREE STRONG SOLID STARS!!

I loved Peach Cobbler the most and Instructions for Married Christian Husbands. I have to say that out of 9 stories, I loved 5 of it. I did not expect that I would enjoy it this much! It is raw and honest and... ugh! This is just really good!!

This is my first short story collection and I really gained a lot of confidence to try other short story books.

In sum:
If you are looking to get started with short story collections, this might be a good start. The stories were all inside the theme and you will find yourself symphatizing to most of them... aren't we all just devils on the inside?

While I loved 5 of the stories, the other 4 did not connect with me that much and I lost interest half-way reading them, BUT I WILL SWEAR ON PEACH COBBLER. I honestly think that you should check out this book and read THAT story. You will not regret it!
