I'm on a roll for picking bad books lately. This one, although somewhat addictive, is laughably poorly written. It's a cheap romance novel hiding behind the guise of a female empowerment story. It tells the tale of a hapless academic who stumbles upon information leading her to investigate what happened to the Amazons, an ancient tribe of warrior women. This book so desperately wants to be a woman's Da Vinci Code. And I have all the problems with that.
