Ex-Heroes
by Peter Clines
This was a quick read but a great book none the less.
This book is a mash-up of a zombie apocalypse with superheroes added. It has a retro, almost [b:Watchmen|472331|Watchmen|Alan Moore|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1442239711s/472331.jpg|4358649] vibe but its not really in the past. Perhaps it's just that some of the superheroes (at least the Dragon) believe that they have these powers to be the "good guys". Rather refreshing.
Lots of Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Burbank landmarks mentioned. I suspect that if you lived in that area, you'd recognize the accuracy of all of the places the author mentioned.
Lots of good twists in the plot.
It was also refreshing that the good guys actually won in the end (if anyone can win in an apocalyptic story).
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
