This is one of those books that I feel like I’m supposed to like… but I just don’t.
First half was 2 stars - I just wasn’t interested. I didn’t enjoy reading about Jane and Mr. Rochester like I didn’t like him very much. The whole “insane wife” storyline was weird to me.
But then she left and the rest of the book was much more pleasant to read (3 stars). Even so, I think you could describe this as a love story and I didn’t necessarily believe in their romance until the very end of the book.
Maybe the movie(s) will be better??
