One hundred years of solitude by Gabriel García Márquez
5.0
Still my favourite book ever.
Beautifully written, GGM transports you not just into the magical landscape of Macondo, but he also the complex and tragic lives of the Buendías, and not just their personal history but one that resonates deeply with anyone growing up in Latin America.
This book still also has the best start and ending of any book I’ve ever read. Always a great read when I can’t seem to motivate myself enough to want to read anything at all. Truly a love letter to literature.
