The Hunting Wives by May Cobb

2.0

The first half of the book was very slow, and I struggled to understand why the main character was welcomed into the group so easily without saying more than 4 words any time she spoke to them. I felt hungover every time I read it because of the amount of alcohol they all drank, it felt over the top and as if the author was trying to force some kind of housewife stereotype to make it relatable. It failed. The last half of the book picked up in action but it was still hard to understand why this group of women were friends and why we should invest in caring about the main character. The ending was confusing and left a huge piece of the plot unanswered (why did Callie drug Sophie? Callie never got held accountable or explained).
