It Sounded Better in My Head
by Nina Kenwood
I really appreciated that this protagonist still had a lot of growing up to do even at 18. She was nervous about kissing, unsure of herself and very close to her parents. Most of the time these themes are in books with 14/16 year old protagonists but personally I was still very inexperienced at 18 and I appreciate that Natalie is that way as well. I also loved the very frank passages about acne- I’ve never seen a book talk about how very painful acne can be before.
