I read this book and The Trespasser in reverse order-- this is the fifth book in the Dublin Murder Squad series and introduces us to the characters Stephen Moran and Antoinette Conway as they work to solve a cold case murder that occurred a year prior at an all girl’s school. Each chapter switches perspectives between Detective Moran and a small clique of girls at the school, which kept me hooked throughout. There’s a magical realism subplot that I found interesting at the beginning, but seemed unnecessary as the story continued. I almost gave this book 3 stars because of this, but enjoyed it enough otherwise to give it 4 stars!
