A surreal story following generations of a family line over a century.

While there were bits of this book I found engaging, I often found the plot extremely hard to follow due to the speed with which characters were dropped and picked back up.

The magical realism elements worked really well and added an element of whimsy and intrigue to a plot which is ultimately full of death and suffering.

While I can see the skill in this book, I found it very difficult to get through.
