My One and Only by Kristan Higgins

This is a book that I ended up loving, but for a while I wasn't sure if I was going to make it through. There's a lot of action in the book, which I like, but there was also a lot of background information. Often I found myself wishing we would just get to the present. I appreciated knowing so much about the characters and their backgrounds, but still, I thought it dragged.

Also, the background that I really wanted to know, how Harper and Nick broke up, didn't come until like halfway through the book. This sucked not only because I was dying to know what happened, but also because before then I didn't really like Harper so much. I loved her name, I thought she was funny, but she was kind of a really crazy bitch. And not in a positive way.

There were two things I really loved about this book. First, Nick and Harper's romance. It was so sweet and tragic and sweet and tragic that it just killed me. Their connection was amazing. Second, Harper's dog Coco. I am not an animal person, but I really loved that dog.

Bottom Line: Part of me isn't totally sold on recommending this because it took me so long to get into it, but in the end I did really enjoy it and I was sad when it was over. I think it's definitely worth reading for the romance, just be prepared to have to plow through a lot before you get there.
