Go Set a Watchman
by Harper Lee
I have never grieved a fictional character the way I grieved Atticus. It forced me to grapple with the way that the understanding of a child grows out of necessity into adulthood. The book demonstrated this while I "outgrew", also, my original ideas of Atticus. It demonstrates the difference between the childish understanding of events and returning with a more adult understanding later in life.
