So before reading book three, I saw a few reviews saying this one dipped in quality? I don’t see it personally. Whilst not as crazy or warp speed paced as the first or second book, The Dungeon Anarchist Cookbook was a hell of a time.

What I love about these books, especially in this book is the character development is ongoing and well paced. Donut gets some really small but clear moments of growth and change and it was a pleasure to see. I said in my last review I wanted to see more of Katia and I wasn’t disappointed!

I think the only thing stopping this being a 5/5 was the train system map/ setting was such an interesting design but seemed a tad different than I expected and limited the world building (something book one and two did so well with).

The last third of the book is wild and genuinely made me gasp, laugh and feel a sense of anxiety. For a book where the MC has a fair bit of plot armour, I applaud Matt Dinniman for being able to create tension through other plot elements and characters.

Also the actual anarchist book, within the main story… I hope this continues to have further development within the story.

Let’s go book four!
