The Divine and the Cursed
by J.E. Reed
Comparable to ACOTAR and The Cruel Prince series, and The Sky in the Deep
Hatred to Love . Enemies to Allies. War to Saving.
Arianna had heard many stories of The Demon. Much like her people, she believed them until she came in contact with him. As time went on, some of the stories didn’t line up with his actions.
The Demon, Rion, trusted no one. Many stabbed him in the back, quite literally. Until he met her.
“it was the terror-stricken face of that young female that had Rion clenching his chest.
Arianna, despite being thrown at his feet, had never looked at him like that. She’d been frightened, sure, but her gaze had never held what everyone else’s seemed too.”
From there countries fighting against each other to them fighting side-by-side, many sacrifices were made, many tears, and heartbreak. Showing people who they really were and standing up for others against the people closet to you.
Healing the ones who weren’t meant to not be saved.
“I couldn’t just watch you die”
And loving the ones who were meant to be unloveable.
“You will never, never have to spend another day in this life alone. I won’t allow it.”
The author, J.E. Reed, very kindly allowed me to receive an ARC of The Divine and The Cursed. The official release date is December 6, 2022.
I felt the same excitement while reading The Divine and The Cursed as I did reading some of my favorites for the first time, ACOTAR, The Cruel Prince, and The Sky in The Deep. I stated that The Divine and The Cursed were compared to these for many reasons.
1)enemies to lovers trope
2) misunderstood enemy
3)fighting each other and then coming together for a common enemy
I felt many emotions from reading this book, sadness, happiness, anger. But when I finished I was so happy, and I cannot wait for more.
