John Keats: Selected Poems by John Keats

emotional hopeful inspiring reflective

3.5

I feel like I would've gotten more from the poetry if I had read it instead of listened to it, but a lot of the poems were really good! Im also not sure if this is the exact audibook I listened to but oh well. I feel like John Kears has this amazing way of making things so average feel so important and natural and wholesome. In some of the poems you get the vibe that he's a little horny, but honestly the more you think about it he was trying to show people that sex and love involve so much more than just carnal desires. One of the poems, La Belle Dame sans Merci, was a little hard for me to follow and I feel like I lost the plot. However, included in this collection was also Isabella, or The Pot of Basil, which was so moving it almost brought me to tears "Oh, misery!"
