Mind of Winter by Laura Kasischke
2.0
Not my cup of tea. I thought the pace of the story was OK, but any expected tension buildup didn't really materialize until the last few pages.
Holly was not a character I liked at all. Was she psychotic? Clearly at the end, but how did she get there? Her thought processes throughout the book made her out to be this super insecure woman, who couldn't be pragmatic about much of anything, who spent her whole time explaining things away.
The description of the adoption process and Russian orphanages in the 90s was fairly accurate, from what I know.
I had so many unanswered questions at the end, that this book was ultimately unsatisfying.
