Six Scorched Roses by Carissa Broadbent

5.0

This was such a delectable Novella!!

I was quickly engrossed in this story following Lilith and Lord Vale.
People in her town are dying and she's trying to find a cure. She visits the old vampire outside of town and makes a deal, six vials of blood for six roses. He accepts.
The book is thus broken into 6 parts, each detailing the month leading up to/around the next visit.

The sickness that her people have gave me chills, its like the skin was drying and falling off as they dried up internally. Ick, but someone Lilith has survived.

Her relationship with Vale was so cool, from cold, to amused, to friends, and more.
He gets a letter in the middle of the story urging him to come fight for the king they want to put on the throne (Raihn) as he was a general. This connection made me go "!!!" cause its been a while since I read and now I need to reread to re-experience this story.

Overall, this novella was short but left me so engrossed and I was giggling, crying, kicking my feet.
At the end, Lilith somehow manages to:
1. Lift the Plague from her people (and find a cure)
2. Die (finally)
3. Is reborn as a vampire (YAY)
4. Follows her man Vale (YAY LOVE!!)

We did it, Joe!
