Songbird of the Sorrows
by Braidee Otto
I'm torn with this one. I rated it down to 3 stars because this story was a bumpy start. I almost put it down because it was hard to get through the start. I feel like the author was overly focused on world building to the point that everything was overly descriptive unnecessarily. Additionally, we don't get much background or buildup into the main characters, and where we wind up starting. The book felt rushed at points, which took away from the novel as a whole. With that being said, the story itself is a winner. It's definitely a great plot, and I'm excited to see how it unfolds. The ending is just kind of dumped on you, though, and I feel like while it's ended on a climatic point.....it maybe could have been done better. The ending felt rushed also.
