Loved, loved, loved this book even more than the first one! Having two people go on a road/camping trip as they fall in love is a great storyline. (And I'm glad we finally got a legit hit spring scene. 😏)

I was so curious to see how Astaroth was going to be redeemed (especially since society is so against the concept of redemption nowadays), and this did not disappoint! It also brought up a great philosophical debate on how a person's life experiences shape him or her and how you might become a completely different person if certain things change.

Anyway, Astaroth's voice was incredible (well done, Hawley, on the British speak), and I love the constant dominance play with Calladia.

I will say, if Hawley was trying to write a political/social commentary in the form of a romcom, she definitely wasn't subtle about it, but I also found it ironic that Calladia was trying to get away from politics because of her mother and ended up getting tangled up in demon politics because of Astaroth, haha.

Once again, the ending devolved into complete chaos, and it happened had a breakneck pace compared to the rest of the book, even ending rather abruptly, but it was still a good ending.

I read the accompanying preview to Ben's book, and oh gosh, I'm already crying. That book is going to resonate hard, and I can't wait.
