Bombshells by Sarina Bowen
5.0

This book is such a delightfully fun and sexy read and oh me, oh my, Anton Bayer and Sylvie Hansen sparkle with undeniable chemistry. Anton spent the previous Bruisers season on thin ice and needs to now prove he belongs on the team. Sylvie, now a part of the Brooklyn Bombshells is hoping that by sharing the city and the ice with her teen crush Bryce Campeau, the proximity will push his love for her over the edge, from a platonic, familial love, to that of great romance. But when she and Anton meet, she starts seeing signs that he belongs in her life.

Bowen is simply a master at creating traits in her characters that make them so real and endearing. Anton has an over the top personality and is hell-bent on keeping his life in order so that he plays his best season and keeps his job. He and Sylvie meet and the mutual attraction is very apparent. Meanwhile Sylvie waits for Bryce to see that fate or life circumstances have brought them together for a reason. He's oblivious of course, but Anton is not. As Sylvie and Anton begin spending time together as a part of an organizational volunteerism initiative, their comradery builds and the warm-fuzzies quickly escalate.

What I love about these characters is just how unabashed they are with each other. Their temperaments are well matched and I just adored them as individuals, but mostly when they come together. Bowen's trademark humor is front and center, with their banter and teasing reaching great heights. But there's also some very tender, swoon-worthy moments, on both their parts. I LOVE that the Brooklyn Bruisers now have a sister hockey team with the Bombshells and it's such a joy to spend a few hours in their world. 5 Stars and my recommendation.
