Jack's Head by Siggy Shade

3.0

This book is the third I've read this month about a lusty monster with a pumpkin for a head. But, hey, it's Halloween, so who cares? To be honest, I thought Bess and Jack were great. Given how much time they were having 'fun', their characters were conveyed quite effectively. To be honest, the horse thing was the one aspect of this story that kind of shocked me. It was clearly not my thing, and I wasn't anticipating it. But that's my fault for not checking the trigger warnings. I liked that I'm still learning from these insane authors even though I thought I'd seen or read everything they had to give.

"Seven years ago, when I walked out of Whitechapel Manor, I thought my life was over. If anyone ever told me happiness would come in the form of an ax-murdering ghost, I’d ask what they’d been smoking."
