The Golden Doves by Martha Hall Kelly
4.0

I learned several things from this novel (I verified their veracity) - that US citizens ended up in concentration camps, that the Vatican helped Nazi war criminals to escape prosecution, and that there was a failed area of Ravensbruck, the kinderzimmer, that allowed mothers to stay with their babies albeit only for as long as it took the babies to starve. Sadly, these facts made this novel a compelling read as well as the resistance work undertaken in France.
