I've never seen the film and my sister and I like the Limahl song and I said we should watch the film. And then thought wait I should read the book first. Checked if my library has it and 12 days later, 10 hours of reading, I did just that. And it was a great read. I laughed, I cried (specifically when he left Graógramán, that somehow had me bawling) and I admired the world building.
There is so much happening in this I don't know how they made it into a 90 minute film but I'm excited to find out soon.

Someone tell me the English translation also has the first letter of each chapter be the alphabet because even though it took me until Z to realise, it brought me so much joy when I did.

Disappointed that they chose to make a cover that doesn't look anything like the cover described in the book. Why would they do that??
