This whole book was just next level bonkers! I’ve read one of Tessa Bailey’s books before and knew that I would be reading a steamy romcom with pretty stereotypical gender roles and formulaic plot points. However, where her previous book had some redeeming qualities (charming setting, fun banter, good character arcs, etc.) this one was severely lacking in every possible way! Firstly, the names. Melody and Beat?! Beat!!???!!? Outrageous. Secondly, the insane plot. Two nepo babies go viral whilst trying to reunite their rockstar moms?
And one of them is being blackmailed?!??! By his secret biological father??!?!?!?!?
Absolutely crazy. Thirdly, the MMC. I have never wanted a character to seek professional help more in my life!! I did not like his character, his weirdly obsessive and possessive behavior, or the way in which his arc depended a lot on the emotional work the FMC had already done. Lastly, the romance in general. It was very insta-lovey and very cringe.
I find it so hard to believe that two 30 year olds would have met one time at the age of 16, and then never felt a single ounce of desire for another human being until they reunited 14 years later. Also, the fact that the MMC PROPOSED at the end after they had been hanging out for approximately 4-6 weeks was batshit crazy!

All in all, this book was bananas and I do not recommend!
