This whole book is basically a long chase sequence. We follow the three different parts of the company: Geralt and his troop, Triss Merigold and Yennifer Vengerberg. As they all try to catch up with Ciri, in order to protect her from her many persuers. But we also hear from Ciri's own mouth about her journey. It sounds like a book you could skip, but it's in this book that all characters resolve themselves with their fate: Ciri, Geralt and Yennifer all have to decide what they are willing to sacrifice for their loved ones and how they want to live their lives: lead by revenge or fighting for what's right. And who decides what is 'right'?
Kudos to the narrator who does a great job with such a long list of characters and accents.
