My man Bryce stole the show in this story. To set the scene, he is a professional tennis player who gets injured at the peak of his career. When Tami meets him, he's in the middle of his recovery, just trying to find some semblance of normalcy. He swings by a random tennis court one day and is entranced by her as he watches her practice. He doesn't quite fall in love at first sight, but he defintely gets sprung!
Tami has long since given up her dream of becoming a professional tennis player, and is now just living her simple life. When she happens upon Bryce, the instalove isn't reciprocated because she's been burned before. I like how she fought against Bryce just enough to make it fun, but not so long that it became too much.
I loved their chemistry. It's a bit of opposites-attract rowdiness, but quickly becomes a cat-and-mouse story as Bryce pursues Tami.
