Ender in Exile
by Orson Scott Card
Worthwhile read for Ender's Game fans--holds together better than the Speaker for the Dead trilogy. Most of the story is Ender's stint as the governor of a colony, which I had read in graphic novel form a couple years ago, but it was better in its full form here. I find the Shadow series and Ender-related short stories more poignant now as a parent, but I can also see how it can be pretty offputting to some folks in the consistent promotion of the view that having and raising children is the best/only way to have a lasting legacy.
