Y’all I never would have thought that I’d be this down bad for Cowboy romances, but here I am! Whenever I’m in the mood for an quick, small town romance, they always deliver & this was no exception. Long Time Coming was a cute, low stakes listen!
Growing up, Christine (aka Pristine aka Pris) crushed on her brother’s best friend, Tagger. When he returns to their small town years later with his son in tow, the crush she once had also returns. What happens next is a sweet, albeit easy love story.
Let me start by saying, I really enjoyed the banter between Tagger and Pris. She brought out a playful, fun side to him and it melted my heart. The only thing that kind of took away from the book for me is that the romance felt a bit too easy. While their relationship does seem to develop naturally, there really wasn’t a whole lot of conflict outside of the normal dilemmas that arise when two people live in different places and one or both has/have strong ties to their location. Now don’t get me wrong, you’ll never hear me complain about no third act breakup, but I do love a little bit more angst and yearning.
While this isn’t one of those drama filled romances that’s going to have you crying in the club, if you’re looking for something light hearted and fun, add this one to your tbr!
