I thought this was a great book that makes you really look at misogyny and other cultural issues in the 60s and how they relate to today’s issues - still including women’s rights. It is partially a love story but it goes much further than that. I loved it!
My one down side is that it really did hammer in misogyny and more or less vilified men. But if you are looking at it a bit more critically, you can understand the overarching meaning and point and see male characters that don’t fit that bill.
Ultimately, it’s the character descriptions and personalities that largely drive the whole narrative. It’s really a fabulous read.
