This is the first book I’ve read by this author and though I thought it was enjoyable for the most part, I am just wildly frustrated with the MMC getting away with what he got away with all in the name of love🫠

There are just SO many white men in the world, you know? So why choose one who makes choices like *that* ?! Idk, it just could NOT be me. I’m too old, too tired, and refuse to contribute even more emotional labor to a world that I’ve already given so much. Kthxbye.

I will give this author another try because the sexual tension, banter, and unpacking of each leads’ experiences in their industry and in academia were written well enough, but the underlying conflict of this couple’s tension truly ruined the book for me. I also despise when a MMC describes his FMC as “she was so beautiful she didn’t need makeup” and though that’s a tiiiiiiiny thing, it just irks me😮‍💨
