I saw the movie when it came out so I knew the general plot but the book was still a riveting read. It gives more details about the main characters' psyche.

I think the movie ended with Nick just being stuck with the marriage but in the book ends with Nick thinking, "No one else would go this far because of me." and I thought that was fascinating.
