4.5 ⭐️ I absolutely love Karin Slaughter’s writing. The incredible amount of research that has to go into writing her books, in detail, always blows my mind. This one went back and forth between the past and present and it was done perfectly. It gave you just enough history and information to start putting all the pieces together. Although so graphic, the detail was so incredible that while reading I literally felt as though I was watching a movie. It felt so real, I could literally picture it. The build up and the plot twist to who the serial killer was, was done SO well. But those cliffhangers at the end of the chapters had me dyingggggg for more!
I only have two complaints regarding this book. 1) there was so much in the beginning of the book regarding the prison riot and murder, but then nothing ever came back to that. And 2) this book, and the chapters were so so soooo long. I struggled reading this book as quickly as I usually do for that reason only. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this book. But definitely read the TW beforehand.
