The Last Kiss by Sally Malcolm

After a series of contemporary romances, here's a historical novel, which is my favourite kind even if reading about the horrors of a war is really not something I enjoy. Fortunately, as this book is mostly set after the war, there is not too much of that - only enough consequences (PTSD and, of course, Ash's injury) to make it feel real without ruining the romance's cuteness. In fact, I thought it was everything a historical M/M romance should be, also because it includes the constant threat of being caught but never lacks happy moments when the main characters are alone together. And there is, in every page, so much affection that they're forced to call friendship (when even that is frowned upon because of their difference in social rank)... I absolutely loved that.
