I've been wanting to read this book for like at least a year. And now I FINALLY did.
Let me tell you; I COULDN'T STOP READING.
While Mare starts off as your usual female leading character who's being thrown into the story with no clue what she's got to do, she actually surprised me in the progress. Although the plotline seemed like the typical girl- against-the-rest-of-the-world kinda situation, and there was a point where it reminded me of the selection series, i quite liked it. Especially because I felt like the romance was a part of the book, but not the main part.
I really liked Lucas (I'M STILL CRYING) and there were moments I wanted to hug Cal or punch him in the face. Or both. At the same time.
Maven seemed too nice from beginning on but after I started to like him... well...
However, I can't wait to read the next book!
