While at times I found Bill to ramble on and repeat himself in various chapters of this book, I still took away a great deal of information. And there is a lot of information (there were times where it did get a little overwhelming since I have no experience in the field of science). Some of the negative reviews I read on this book are based on the fact that it does stay very general. But that's the point. Bill Nye has always and will always be that spokesperson for science who can engage people who know nothing about science. I grew up watching Bill's show and he was the one that made me understand and even appreciate the science all around us. He makes it simple and puts it to every day life. And his book does just what his show set out to do. It brings in those who may not be interested or understand with a simple general teaching of evolution. He even states in the beginning he wants this to be a book where even people who may oppose him (creationists) to understand where his points are coming from and so kids can get educated because that's where our future and science's future lies. Bill has a voice that engages and is light hearted and it shows throughout his book. While I have always been a supporter of evolution this book was able to give me more information on where life stems from and where it could be heading. I'm glad I picked up this book and would recommend it to anyone.
