I KNOW it's a sad Twilight knockoff. I KNOW there is very little reason or original characters. I KNOW there are way too many coincidences and easy plot resolutions. I KNOW it like... actually kinda sucks??
But I ATE it up. It's been a long time since I read the first book in a series and thought "I want to read the rest of them." To be fair, that might be because little to nothing ACTUALLY happened in this book (it felt like a huge build up to what will hopefully be a real plot in the rest of the series). But this just really did it for me. I was looking for a Twilight-esque late 00's paranormal romance and this checked all the boxes.
Listened to the audiobook through my public library's Hoopla app.
